Gameplay Walkthrough

Tobin is a high damage Tough character that perfectly compliments other high-damage output characters. He leverages On A Roll to dramatically increase his damage, while providing his team Attack buffs, creating a strong synergy between different attacking characters (e.g. – Tough Tyreese). Tobin also has more defensive qualities for himself, allowing him more flexibility among different team compositions:

Rush

Tobin’s Rush is a unique blend of raw offensive firepower, team enhancement, and self-preservation. With 700% Damage to 2 enemies at a 76 AP Cost, combined with On A Roll, Tobin has the potential to deal a serious amount of damage at a reasonably fast rate.

Tobin is great for potentially dealing damage to that low HP enemy being protected by Human Shield, or as a great way to set up a Decapitate character. When combined with his +60% Attack buff to his teammates, Tobin makes for a solid opener to begin an all out assault on the enemy team.

This Rush also gives Tobin +45% Bonus HP, allowing for him to have is own sustainability against oncoming attacks by the enemy team. Combined with his team Attack buff and Weapon effect, this gives Tobin the potential to also work well on a more damage-oriented defense team, given his defensive capabilities, team enhancements, and multi-targeting damage.

Active

This active skill enables Tobin to recover 2 teammates from Stun. Given that it’s likely for a team with Tobin to encounter Alert enemies with Stun weapons, this active skill can be fairly handy when in a bind or encountering a lot of Stun control effects.

Specialist Skill

On A Roll provides increasing amounts of Attack bonuses to the character every turn, as long as you avoid being Stunned or Impaired. As a result, consider using Stun and Impair resist mods on Tobin to help avoid having On A Roll be reset.

On A Roll can be a very powerful Specialist Skill that can enable a character to take down even the tankiest of foes, regardless of trait. Since Tobin’s Attack buff goes to his teammates, this will help Tobin gain his own Attack buff (and potentially a stronger version) while having his Rush give a boost to his team.

Special Weapon

Absolute Defense allows Tobin to survive brutal attacks, which can help enable Tobin to be both offensive and defensive. Combined with the right team composition, this weapon effect helps Tobin be a force on a Defense Team. Alternatively, if you want to have Tobin be more offensive, you could recraft for Impair.
